Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client is looking for a Markit EDM Developer for security master for a 6-month contract opportunity to work on-site in New York, NY 2 days a week. This is for the Data Governance Technology & Master Data Management team. The Developer is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of components of our enterprise mastering platform - driving data quality, consistency, and operational efficiency across the firm, with a primary focus on security reference data spanning multiple asset classes.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain data mastering workflows using MarkitEDM or equivalent enterprise data management platforms
* Support end-to-end mastering logic for security reference data - including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and structured products - across multiple upstream vendor feeds
* Build and optimize data quality rules, survivorship logic, and golden record frameworks to ensure downstream data consumers receive clean, trusted data
* Integrate with industry data vendors (Bloomberg, ICE, etc.) and map vendor schemas to internal data models
* Troubleshoot production data issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes with minimal business disruption
* Perform ad-hoc data analysis and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Collaborate with Data Governance, Front Office Technology, and Operations teams to define mastering rules, resolve data conflicts, and onboard new data domains
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required
* 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data mastering or MDM-focused roles within financial services or asset management
* Hands-on experience with IHS MarkitEDM required, will also look at other equivalent platforms
* Proficiency in SQL, data modeling and ETL processes
* Strong understanding of security reference and pricing data - including identifiers, corporate actions, asset classifications, and multi-vendor data sourcing
* Familiarity with data quality frameworks, exception management workflows, and SLA-driven data operations
* Understanding of the financial services and asset management industry
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
* Strong communication skills to engage effectively across technical and business teams
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges independently
* Exposure to cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS) or orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt) is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
