Job description

Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Master Inspector - 1st Shift (Quality) to join our team on Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI!
The hourly rate for this position is $28.25 per hour.
The core hours are 7am - 3pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.
Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000* paid in two installments, less applicable withholding.
*Bonus terms:
  • Bonuses are being offered for a limited time only. Applications must be submitted on or after January 1st, 2024 to qualify.

What you'll do:
The Master Inspector will fill in on test and inspection functions and provide services as required by Quality supervisor. Interact with the Quality supervisor for all department functions. Interact with Production, Marketing, and Engineering, as required. Write and administer training programs. Monitor conformance to quality standards.
In this function, you will:
• Understand and perform all job classifications within the Quality Assurance/Quality Control departments and fill in as needed in all test and inspection areas.
• Investigate offline test failures, offline non-routine testing, issue non-conforming reports.
• Understand and perform all special testing with control/relay wiring, fans, VFI, shock log, etc....
• Perform minor maintenance of test and inspection equipment including calibrations, maintaining and ordering testing supplies.
• Assume limited responsibility in the absence of the Quality supervisor.
• Perform special projects as directed by the Quality supervisor.
• Assist the Quality supervisor with daily duties:
• Direct assignments for employees on the shift.
• Make decisions (e.g., go-no-go and assess charges) on quality issues.
• Audit deviation requests, approve, issue, and maintain log
• Coil failure analysis (winding sheet testing, TTR, Resistance)
• Assist in writing training programs and procedures.
• Assist/train department personnel in all on- and off-line functions.
• Participate in UL and FM surveillance inspections, maintain UL logs from inspection.
• Investigate the cause of nonconforming product and initiate the corrective action necessary to prevent recurrence.
• Participate in customer inspections and with test witnesses.
Qualifications:
• High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Education in AC/DC fundamentals AND/OR completion of electricity coursework from an accredited institution AND/OR a minimum of 1 year of experience in electricity.
• Minimum of 2 years of Quality experience in Regulators Quality and/or Badger Transformers Quality.

• Must have an attitude and abilities which reflect leadership qualities.
• Possess a high degree of technical knowledge of testing, test equipment, transformer/regulator construction and operations, manufacturing systems, and Quality Assurance methods and procedures to adequately perform the job of supervising and training department personnel.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
