Description

DESCRIPTION OF EMPLOYER: Crystal Creamery is the largest privately owned dairy in California. It supplies a full line of value-added milk products including fluid milk, milk bi-products, sour cream cottage cheese, yogurt, ice cream, butter, juices, water, dry powders, and mixes. It operates manufacturing plants in Modesto, Fresno, and Fernbridge, California providing customers with a diverse range of quality products. Products are distributed throughout the Western United States via direct store delivery and distributor routes and direct to customer's warehouses.

SUMMARY:     The Master Planner/scheduler works with sales and production to develop and manage a forecast for long range material planning while considering current inventory, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles, and production demands. S/He works to develop a macro level efficient inventory position while also managing a micro daily/hourly plant schedule while assisting plant floor supervisors. They work collaboratively across all departments of the company to help improve production efficiencies including load balancing on incoming milk. 

The Master Planner/Scheduler works at both a strategic level and tactical level; identifying and implementing system and process improvements to supply chain, improving forecasting tools and procedures through application of ideas and projects, analyzing inventory levels and demands to ensure product availability and minimizing inventory costs. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Develop and maintain Forecast, Master Production Schedule and Material Requirements based on history, seasonality, and sales opportunities

-Development of forecast and supply programs to improve current days of inventory and cash cycle

-Proactively review material supply and demand to determine push/pull actions

-Develop planning tools and framework to obtain approval from main stakeholders

-Establish a planning calendar to assure standard updates to Master Production Schedule 

-Supervise and report actual results against Master Production Schedule

-Work with Sales and Operations to develop and manage a forecast for long range material planning via a formal S&OP process

-Drive, promote and develop positive communications with Sales and Operations 

-Establish centralized demand estimating for production across all production areas and plants

-Prepare and manage master materials schedule (raw milk) utilizing ERP and varied applications

-Identify and implement system and process improvements within the supply chain to enable overall business process improvement

-Analyze inventory levels and product demands to determine reorder levels and safety stocks that will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs. 

-Assist in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies. 

-Work closely with Operations and internal buyers to determine the appropriate levels of safety stock for finished goods and components to minimize lead times. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

-Proven experience with complex planning, forecasting, and product lifecycle programs. 4 years minimum experience. Dairy Preferred

-Experience with Purchasing/Materials tools (MRP, Inventory analysis, part, or supplier profiles etc). 

-Proven people skills required, must have ability to work with others while effectively handling internal pressures. 

-Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal)

-Organizational and problem-solving skills required.

-Minimum of 4 years of Supply Chain/Master Scheduling experience. 

-Bachelor's degree in business management, or Supply Chain Management 

-Experience in analysis of costed bills of materials to formulate a fair review. 

   Reviews master production schedule and work orders, establishes priorities for specific customer orders, and revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, materials, machines, and equipment.
