City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) School of Engineering provides access to high quality and equitable community college pathways leading to an associate degree and transfer opportunities to four-year colleges or universities in engineering or computer science for racially and socio-economically diverse engineering students.
Headquartered at Harold Washington College with sites at various campuses across the district, the School of Engineering aspires to become the nation’s premier community college pipeline for producing diverse engineering leaders. CCC challenges the traditional model of high-cost education by offering affordable, accessible, and high-quality programs with the rigor and standards aligned with our partner institutions of higher education.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVEWorking as part of the School of Engineering District team and reporting directly to the Districtwide Dean-School of Engineering , the Associate Dean-School of Engineering provides collaborative leadership at one or more of the School of Engineering site colleges. In partnership with college faculty and staff, the Associate Dean supports the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the School of Engineering’s programs, services, and student supports.
The Associate Dean is responsible for implementing and overseeing student-facing services offered at the site colleges to enhance the student experience, increase enrollment, and retain students. Services include, but are not limited to, recruitment, orientation, placement and advising, peer-to-peer tutoring, internships, mentorship, and transfer support. Performs related duties as required.
The Associate Dean will initially be assigned to two CCC colleges, supporting both campuses and their students as each continues to implement the School of Engineering model. This position requires periodic travel to other City Colleges campuses and to partner schools and organizations.
As enrollment for each campus grows, the Associate Dean may be reassigned to serve a single college or to support other college sites as needed.
