Field Application Specialist - Ontario

Field Application Specialist I

Position Summary

This position is to provide solution-oriented consultative training, technical support and troubleshooting at customer sites, and remotely, on bioMerieux's Clinical and Industry product lines. Effectively work with customers to achieve efficient implementation and go live of new instrumentation. Retain current customer business, while developing and strengthening customer relationships that result in customer loyalty and positive referrals. The Field Application Specialist promotes teamwork and cooperation, removes barriers to productivity, and creates an enthusiastic, positive work environment.


Primary Duties

  1. Coordinate and provide technical training, consultation, and ongoing support of bioMerieux's diagnostic product lines within the Canada customer base.
  2. Develop, cultivate, and maintain strong professional relationships with all customers.
  3. Answer internal and external customer inquiries and ensure regulatory compliance through timely and accurate documentation in bioMerieux's CRM system; consulting as appropriate with Sales Partners, Application Specialists, Field Service, IT Resources, Management teams, and Local/Global Support Teams.
  4. Provide consistent follow up to ensure customer satisfaction and meet minimum key performance indicators.
  5. Responsible for efficient territory management within operating expense budget.
  6. Support bioMerieux revenue initiatives.
  7. Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in microbiology/molecular or life sciences field. 
  • Master's (preferred)
  • MLT certification preferred.
  • 4 years related experience defined in the section below will be accepted in lieu of degree)

Experience

  1. Clinical laboratory experience or bioMerieux product experience preferred.
  2. Experience with Health Canada regulations and/or other laboratory credentialing standards preferred.
  3. Experience with related technical field applications support strongly preferred.
  4. Laboratory Information System (LIS) or Connectivity/Networking experience a plus.
  5. IT & software experience is an asset.
