CAD Drafting Technician

RideWrap Protection Inc.

Whistler, BC โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Job description

About Us

RideWrap is a rider-owned and operated business. Since the beginning, our objective has been simple: help riders get the most out of their time riding bikes. RideWrap’s proprietary systems are born from combining a background in precision engineering with a love for riding bikes. We produce industry-leading frame protection components for all bikes and riders.

The Opportunity

As a CAD Drafting Technician at RideWrap, you are the crucial link between a physical bike and our world-class Tailored Protection™ kits. You will be at the heart of our production engine, mastering Solidworks and Inventor to translate complex bike geometry and measurement data into flawless, precision-cut 2D digital templates.
You’ll be solving 3D spatial puzzles every single day, keeping our pipeline moving as new bikes hit the market. If you are a CAD whiz who loves optimizing workflows, achieving a flow state while tackling a steady stream of technical challenges, and seeing your digital work hit the trail almost instantly, this is your dream role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Generate Production Assets: Adapt and scale existing 3D product models based on specific measurement data to create precise, tailored templates.
  • Master the 3D/2D Space: Drive Solidworks/Inventor to their limits, producing clean, highly accurate production assets and documentation packages.
  • Drive Efficiency and Precision: Take pride in managing a busy, ongoing pipeline of designs, delivering high-quality assets on time to match the fast-paced bike industry.
  • Innovate the Process: Actively refine our design workflows. Document process improvements to help the whole team work faster, smarter, and with greater precision.
  • Collaborate & Problem-Solve: Work closely with the production and measurement teams to overcome unique geometric challenges and ensure perfect fitment.
  • Ensure Flawless Quality: Review, rectify, and polish your 3D models with a keen eye for detail before they move into physical production.
  • Team Contribution: Pitch in where needed as part of a dynamic, growing crew.

What You Bring to the Table
  • Experience: Related experience in digital/3D CAD design or mechanical drafting an asset.
  • Software Wizardry: Absolute proficiency in Solidworks or Inventor is essential. (Portfolio examples will be requested).
  • Agility: Proven ability to transfer your skills to new software and tools quickly.
  • Education: A diploma or degree in a related subject, or equivalent CAD certification is an asset but not required
  • The "Zone": You are a self-starter who thrives when you can put your headphones on, dive into a steady series of detail-oriented tasks, and churn out incredibly accurate work without losing focus.
  • Organization: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a busy schedule independently.
  • Culture Fit: You have a strong work ethic, a positive team attitude, and are absolutely stoked about biking and getting involved in the bike industry.

Compensation & Perks
  • Expected Wage: $25.00 per hour
  • Location: Live and work in the global mountain biking mecca of the Sea-to-Sky corridor.
  • Perks: Company parties, employee discounts, flexible schedules, wellness resources, and being part of an innovative, tight-knit crew that prioritizes getting out on the trails.
Our values

Innovation: As an industry leader, we’re not just using the most advanced tech available, we’re creating our own. If it doesn’t exist, we build it.

Precision: RideWrap wasn’t built from the ground up by eyeballing and free-handing. We sketched, we drafted, we tested. We tested again and made sure we got it done right. We’re nerds. So what?

Community: Bikes are for everyone, so protection for your bikes should be for everyone too. We want all riders and riding communities to feel supported from early starts to late après endings, we’re here for it all.
