Job description
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree (doctorate preferred) in psychology from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas license as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology granted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
- Spanish-speaking, preferred
- Two (2) years of successful experience in providing psychological services in an educational setting preferred
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- Perform professional psychological services in assessment, behavior management, and counseling services for students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and/or behavioral problems
- Assess the psychological and psycho-educational needs of students referred to special education services
- Provide guidance to the special education counselor and oversee the behavior programs at each campus
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of procedures for assessing achievement and intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning for educational purposes
- Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions
- Knowledge of psycho-social development
- Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, and students
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Salary: $55.00 hourly
Sheldon ISD will accept applications for this position through November 3, 2024. After this date, applications will continue to be accepted in the event a suitable candidate is not identified. If no viable candidate is selected from the initial applicant pool, applications submitted after November 3rd will be reviewed in five-day intervals until a candidate is recommended for hire.
