Cole Valley Christian Schools, established in 1972, is the largest Christian school in Idaho, serving approximately 1,400 students from early childhood through 12th grade with a culture of grace, truth and love. We desire to strive for the excellence that God calls us to in preparing our students to impact the world for Christ. Therefore, we are seeking someone who first and foremost has a strong relationship with Christ that is evidenced in all aspects of their life.

Job Summary:

Cole Valley Christian Schools is seeking God's wisdom as we search for a Christ following, dynamic, and gifted individual to join our incredible staff. Athletics is an integral part of Cole Valley's vision of developing the whole person to impact the world for Jesus Christ. We believe that God uses athletics to teach us spiritual truths. The Middle School Head Girls Basketball Coach will demonstrate strong leadership, sportsmanship, player development skills and have a heart for discipleship.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct safe, effective, and age-appropriate practices.
  • Teach fundamental running techniques, conditioning, pacing, and race strategies.
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and respect.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, transportation, and team activities.
  • Ensure compliance with school, district, and league policies and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, athletic administration, and school staff.
  • Organize meet entries, practice schedules, and team logistics.
  • Monitor athlete eligibility, attendance, and academic expectations.
  • Build relationships and invest in the lives of the students, helping them grow in their relationship with Christ as they see Christ living in you.
  • Collaborate with Athletic Director in ensuring transportation, facilities, equipment, and safety requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord.
  • Be spiritually mature with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience playing or coaching.
  • Previous youth discipleship experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor student athletes.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.

Spiritual Qualifications:

  • Profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have made Him both Savior and Lord as represented in Scripture (John 14:1-27; Ephesians 2:8-22) and accepts without reservation the Statement of Faith of Cole Valley Christian Schools.
  • Have a history of faithfully attending and financially supporting a Bible believing church.
  • Have a verifiable history of living and modeling Christian character in employee's personal and professional life, serving as a Christian role model first to family and friends and then to students, parents, and fellow faculty and staff members in regard to personal judgment, dignity, and Christian living. This is expressed in such passages as Ephesians 5:21-23; Colossians 3:12-17; and 2 Peter 1:1-10. Individual's life in Christ must continue to be faithfully pursued in and out of the workplace as a condition of continuing in this ministry position.
  • Willing to submit to the authority of those who have oversight of the school (1 Peter 2, 9-20), and to fully cooperate with these authorities and adhere to the policies adopted by the School Board in both letter and intent.
  • Strive at all times to understand, appreciate, love, and nurture the students entrusted to employee for instruction, supervision, and/or oversight, and must provide for their fullest spiritual, intellectual, physical, and emotional development.
