Job description

School Operations

ยท Follow Christian-based philosophy and principles, plan, prepare and teach the prescribed curriculum for the grade and/or subject area(s) s/he is teaching

ยท Implement, execute, and measure academic success at the classroom level. Assist with the ongoing review and improvement processes and procedures related to the school

ยท Work cooperatively and interact positively with students, parents, staff and community

ยท Oversees classroom discipline and escalate issues to appropriate personnel, as applicable

ยท Supervise co-curricular activities, as needed

ยท Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the student

Administrative

ยท Participate and attend school functions

ยท Provide leadership in ensuring a positive and cooperative culture and climate exists within the school

Experience and Requirements

ยท Must believe in Christian-based philosophy and principles and extend those to students and families

ยท Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a professional manner with a diverse population of children, youth and adults

ยท Possess the ability to establish a rapport with youth, parents and other staff, while maintaining appropriate boundaries

ยท Experience working in an urban school environment, including general knowledge of issues facing at-risk youth, is desired

ยท Excellent written and verbal communication skills

ยท Ability to effectively collaborate with other disciplines in problem solving
