This is a hybrid role based at our Corporate Headquarters in Lynnfield, MA.

The Sr. Analyst Master Data Governance is responsible for the governance, quality, maintenance, and continuous improvement of SAP master data across HP Hood. This role serves as a subject matter expert for SAP Material Master data and partners with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, and IT teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with enterprise data standards.

The ideal candidate combines strong SAP expertise with a highly analytical mindset and a passion for solving complex data challenges. This individual will identify data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and drive process improvements that support operational excellence and business performance.

Success in this role requires deep SAP Material Master expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex data quality and business process issues. Candidates with primarily reporting or business intelligence backgrounds and limited SAP master data experience may not be a strong fit.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for SAP Material Master data and related governance processes.
  • Create, maintain, and govern material master records while ensuring adherence to established business rules and data standards.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Perform root cause analysis of master data defects and develop sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and monitor data quality metrics, KPIs, and governance controls.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and Finance teams to understand business requirements and translate them into SAP master data solutions.
  • Support SAP master data initiatives, system enhancements, and process improvement projects.
  • Validate and reconcile master data across SAP and connected business applications.
  • Support mass data maintenance and migration activities using SAP data load tools and workflow solutions.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide actionable insights into data quality and business performance.
  • Document data standards, business rules, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on master data accuracy, efficiency, and governance compliance.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and business impacts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on SAP Material Master experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in Master Data Governance, Data Quality, or Material Master Management.
  • Strong understanding of SAP Material Master data structures, business processes, and related transaction data.
  • Experience with SAP T-Codes, Fiori Applications, tables, and data relationships.
  • Proven experience investigating data issues and performing root cause analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills including data analysis, pivot tables, lookups, and data validation.
  • Experience building reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools.

Preferred

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience with Automate (Winshuttle) Studio and Evolve.
  • Experience with SQL and data querying tools.
  • Experience supporting data governance frameworks and data stewardship programs.
