Join a team where innovation is encouraged, collaboration is valued, and your work helps build a more sustainable future.

The Impact You'll Make

    • Perform routine, in-depth, fracture-critical, and special bridge inspections in accordance with SNBI.
    • Plan and execute bridge inspections.
    • Conduct field assessments of bridge components, including superstructure, substructure, bearings, decks, joints, and ancillary structures.
    • Document structural deficiencies, deterioration, and maintenance needs using field notes, photographs, sketches, and inspection software.
    • Prepare bridge inspection reports and condition assessments.
    • Review existing bridge plans, prior inspection reports, and load rating information prior to inspections.
    • Utilize access equipment such as ladders, under-bridge inspection units, lifts, boats, or rope access systems as required.
    • Coordinate traffic control and safety procedures.
    • Support structural evaluations, emergency response inspections, and asset management tasks as needed.
    • Maintain compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.
    • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, municipalities, and state agency personnel on project deliverables.

    The Expertise You'll Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or related field.
    • Minimum 4-7 years of bridge inspection or related structural inspection experience.
    • Experience working on MassDOT or RIDOT bridge inspection projects.
    • Familiarity with SNBI requirements and FHWA inspection procedures.
    • Completion of FHWA/NHI Bridge Inspection Training Course.
    • Experience preparing inspection reports and documenting bridge conditions.
    • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and engineering plans.
    • Physically capable of performing work at heights, work at night, carrying ladders and equipment, and working in adverse weather conditions.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel throughout Massachusetts and surrounding New England states as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) or PE-Eligibility a plus.
    • Experience with tunnel or ancillary structure inspections is a plus.
    • Familiarity with inspection software and asset management systems.
    • Rope access, confined space, or OSHA safety certifications are a plus.
    • Experience performing bridge load ratings is a plus.
    • Experience operating inspection equipment and coordinating lane closures or police details.
