| Aspect | Masonry Instructor | Masonry Teacher |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Typically requires masonry certifications and teaching experience | Often requires masonry skills and teaching credentials or certifications |
| Work Environment | Workshops, training centers, vocational schools | Schools, community colleges, training programs |

Both roles focus on teaching masonry skills, but a Masonry Instructor often emphasizes practical, hands-on training in specialized settings, while a Masonry Teacher may work in formal educational institutions. The key differences lie in their work environments and the certifications required.
The duties of a masonry instructor involve designing a curriculum and teaching masonry, stonework, and bricklaying skills in a shop, in a classroom, or in the field. Your responsibilities in this career may include planning and overseeing student workshops, performing demonstrations, and advising students on other academic steps that they could take to start their masonry career. As a masonry instructor, you typically work with brick and other masonry materials. You may also provide instruction in the safe and effective use of tools and machinery common in the masonry trade.
