First and foremost, the parts counter employees are expected to politely wait on customers and help them in any way they can. Key duties include assisting walk-in customers and service technicians, utilizing inventory systems to locate parts, processing transactions, and maintaining inventory organization. Requirements typically include, but are not limited to, product knowledge, communication skills, and lifting capabilities up to 75 pounds. Primary DutiesThe Parts Counter Sales Assistant is responsible for taking orders for special order parts. They are also responsible for maintaining and stocking the parts showroom. It is their job to neatly display our retail items in an effective, efficient way.
The Parts Counter Sales Assistants are also expected to assist technicians when they are needing to find schematics for their machine, find parts, or order parts for their assigned work order It is their responsibility to bill out each part used for a work order unit, to the corresponding work order.
Parts will continue to change as new models are produced, or if we switch manufacturers, etc. It is the Parts Counter Assistant’s responsibility to stay updated with these changes in parts and models to continue to serve our customers in the best possible way.
At the end of each day, it is the Parts Counter Sales Assistant’s responsibility to help count the register and close credit card machines at the end of the workday. It is mandatory that this is done at the end of every workday.
The Parts Counter Sales Assistant is responsible for physical inventory count, which is to be conducted no later than Thanksgiving weekend each year.
