Job description

OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician (BC/BE)

Mary Washington Healthcare | Fredericksburg, VA

Join a collaborative OB Hospitalist program that offers outstanding work-life balance, strong specialty support, and the opportunity to practice high-acuity obstetrics in a physician-centered environment.

Position Highlights

  • Full-time position with only 6-7 scheduled 24-hour shifts per month
  • No back-to-back call shifts
  • Significant time off between shifts
  • Two OB physicians on Labor & Delivery at all times
  • Collaborative, team-based environment with immediate physician support

Advanced Obstetric Care

  • Practice in a hospital supported by a Level III NICU
  • Dedicated in-house Maternal-Fetal Medicine support
  • Partnership with Children's National Hospital
  • Integrated support from neonatology, pediatrics, anesthesia, nursing, and MFM teams
  • Manage complex maternal and neonatal conditions close to home

Scope of Practice

  • Labor & Delivery management
  • Antepartum, postpartum, and recovery care
  • Obstetric emergencies and high-risk cases
  • Vaginal deliveries, operative vaginal deliveries, and cesarean sections
  • Inpatient OB/GYN consultations and admissions
  • Urgent and emergent gynecologic procedures, including laparoscopy
  • Collaborative oversight of Certified Nurse Midwives

Qualifications

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency
  • Virginia medical license or eligibility
  • Strong inpatient obstetric and procedural experience

  • $415,000 guaranteed base salary
