Job description

Job Summary -

Provides direct and indirect patient care. Communicates with all members of the healthcare team, as appropriate related to changes in patient's clinical condition including diagnostic study results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Is able to perform general nursing duties.
Assumes responsibility for unit patient populations. Understands and be willing to adhere to the service excellence standards established for Mary Rutan Health. Demonstrates the ability to complete thorough patient assessments. Demonstrates effective communication skills necessary to interact efficiently with all customers. Able to work independently and demonstrate ability to delegate appropriately. Effectively functions in unexpected crisis in a calm, confident manner. Willing to adjust schedule to meet unit needs, float to and work in other areas as assigned and accept low census as needed. Works required weekends and holidays. Adheres to all staffing and personnel policies. Keeps all required licensures and certifications current.

Regulatory Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current State Nursing Licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 12 months of hire.
  • For FBC Nurses NRP is a required certification prior to completion of orientation.
  • For ED, OR, PACU and SDS current PALS certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 12 months of hire.

Language Skills

  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional language(s) and communication skills (sign language) preferred.

Skills

  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Cardiac Monitoring is required.
