Job description

Client Logistics Specialist

The Client Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring daily communications with MDS clients are made. The Client Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring daily commitments, projects, and tasks are completed through appropriate execution while meeting MDS service level agreements. The Client Logistics Specialist will work closely with warehouse, business development and administrative staff to monitor all daily activity and provide necessary feedback to MDS clients.

Primary Responsibilities

I. Manage Inbound and Outbound Order Process

· Import and/or manually enter orders into WMS

· Review and correct any order exceptions as they occur

· Obtain routing and update Bill of Lading status via carrier or client portals

· Import and/or manually enter advance ship notices for inbound shipments; review and act on receiving comments

· Review specialty retailer and vendor compliance to ensure all requirements are met prior to shipping

· Investigate inbound and outbound order issues and damages, file claims with carriers as needed, close out client complaints and issue credits where required

II. Inventory Maintenance

· Set up new client SKUs in WMS via import or manual entry

· Maintain bill of materials and pack out set up for kitting and assembly items

· Request cycle counts from warehouse at client request

· Manage inventory transfers, SKU transfers, Lot/MFG/EXP date tracked items to ensure proper item usage

· Manage year-end physical inventory

III. Communication, Special Jobs & Projects

· Oversee all aspects of special jobs and projects in accordance with MDS and Client timeline

· Prepare special documentation, project samples, project instructions, time tracking log and all other necessary project details and review with warehouse team

· Communicate updates to MDS clients as required

· Respond to all client requests and ensure all orders and inquiries are addressed daily

· Collaborate internally with Sales, Operations, Accounting and IT on new client projects, requests, and scope changes

· Arrange and attend meetings as required (internal or external)

IV. Client Satisfaction & Quality

· Ensure all MDS SOPs and policies are being used and maintained

· Recognize, note and escalate recurring issues and formulate recommended solutions

· Maintain client order flow by adhering to ‘No Order Left Behind’ policy

· Report customer complaints using the established reporting criteria

Qualifications

Education/Experience

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in e-commerce, logistics, or distribution center environment

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with a positive customer-focused attitude

· Detail oriented and deadline driven

· Ability to multitask

· Proficiency in Retailer Routing Portals – Home Depot, Amazon, B2B, SPS Commerce, Marshalls, TJ Maxx

· Proficiency in working with and understanding shipping carriers and terms – Fedex, UPS, USPS, LTL, International Freight Shipping, Truckload, Container

Knowledge/Abilities

· Personal accountability with a client-focused sense of urgency

· Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure

· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

· Excellent organizational skills and the ability to stay on-task

· Proficiency of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Access)

· Understanding of inventory management and warehouse management systems
