Job description

 Position Overview

The Director, Paid Marketing Measurement Analytics is a key leader within Marriott's Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI organization, responsible for delivering insights that influence marketing strategy, channel performance, and campaign effectiveness. This role drives analytics initiatives focused on marketing mix modeling, attribution, incrementality testing, and ROI analysis-enabling strategic data-driven decisions that improve engagement and maximize return on investment.

Working closely with marketing leaders and cross-functional teams, the Director defines analytical priorities, interprets complex data, and translates findings into clear, actionable strategic recommendations. By leveraging advanced analytics and Marriott's data assets, this position ensures marketing strategies are grounded in robust insights and aligned with enterprise goals. The Director combines strong analytical expertise, business acumen, and exceptional communication skills to serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, fostering collaboration and innovation to embed analytics into decision-making and elevate Marriott's marketing performance.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in advanced analytics or related roles, with 3+ years managing others preferred.
  • Ability to translate insights into strategic recommendations for business leaders.
  • Robust understanding of causal inference methodologies (i.e. RCT, differences in differences, instrumental variables)
  • Hands-on knowledge of running incrementality studies (geo-based and audience-based hold-outs, synthetic controls)
  • Strong familiarity with MMM validation techniques (in-market and out-of-sample model validations)
  • Strong understanding of full-funnel marketing and media channels (digital, TV, retail media, paid social, search), as well as relevant measurement frameworks
  • Experience driving marketing measurement innovation
  • Ability to build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of analysts.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end marketing measurement initiatives across channels, including marketing mix modeling, attribution, incrementality testing, and ROI analysis, to evaluate and optimize marketing investments. 
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives and strategic recommendations tailored for senior leadership and executive audiences.
  • Design and apply causal inference methodologies (e.g., randomized controlled trials, differences in differences, synthetic controls, instrumental variables) to isolate incremental impact and inform decision-making.
  • Define and evolve enterprise grade measurement frameworks, KPIs, and success metrics in partnership with marketing stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of high-performing analysts, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, curiosity, and business impact. 
  • Set clear standards for analytical quality, documentation, and storytelling.
  • Partner with data engineering, data science, and visualization teams to ensure analytics are supported by reliable, well-structured, and accessible data assets. 
  • Evaluate and pilot new measurement technologies, tools, and methodologies, continuously advancing Marriott's marketing measurement capabilities. 
  • Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in marketing measurement, experimentation, and advanced analytics.
