The Accounting Clerk plays an essential behind-the-scenes role in keeping Hutton Hotel's financial operations accurate, organized, and in sync. Like a great production, every detail matters-from managing group billing and collections to reconciling accounts and supporting accurate financial reporting.
Successful candidates bring strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills, along with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. The ideal candidate has prior Marriott experience, understands group billing procedures, and is comfortable working in Marriott systems. This role is ideal for someone who can step in with minimal training and provide immediate support to the Accounting team.
Job Overview
The Accounting Clerk provides additional support to the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions. The primary responsibility is managing Accounts Receivable, including group billing, collections, and city ledger reconciliations, while also assisting with Accounts Payable processing as needed.
Due to the complexity of our group billing operations, prior Marriott experience is required. The successful candidate will have experience with Marriott systems and group billing procedures and will be able to contribute effectively with minimal training.

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate Accounts Receivable records, processing group billing, following up on outstanding balances, and completing city ledger reconciliations. This position also assists with Accounts Payable processing and supports the Accounting team with month-end closing and other financial activities.
What you'll be doing...
  • Process and maintain Accounts Receivable, including group billing, collections, and city ledger reconciliations.
  • Prepare and distribute group invoices and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Review accounts for accuracy and follow up on billing discrepancies and unresolved balances.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable processing, invoice entry, and vendor payment support as needed.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Respond to billing and payment inquiries from guests, clients, and vendors in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial information and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Assist with daily accounting processes and reporting while ensuring proper controls are maintained.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and business information.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous manner at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.Success Factors

Experience & Education:
  • Prior Marriott experience is required.
  • 1 year of accounting experience, preferably with hotels or property management.
  • 4 year degree in accounting or finance or equivalent education and experience preferred.

Communication:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including electronic communication.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in primary language used in the workplace.

Physical:
  • 8+ hours per day sitting at desk/computer.
  • Manual dexterity and repetitive motions required throughout workday.
