Job description

Position Summary

The Database Marketing Analyst accelerates the business at the intersection of data management, marketing technology, and email strategy, working to centralize email operations, streamline governance, and optimize marketing programs performance. The role is cross-functional, collaborating with marketing automation teams and marketing stakeholders to support efforts that drive continuous utility of our contact database data for email marketing strategy and roadmap progression.

This role will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Automation, and will lead an effort to ensure the health and performance of SolarWinds' marketing automation programs. In addition to this management responsibility, the Analyst will partner across operations and marketing teams to ensure our go-to-market needs are met with proactive and forward-thinking consideration of our contact database. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of B2B marketing, marketing automation, data analytics, and a desire to translate business needs into powerful segmentation and audience concepts that continuously modernize our digital marketing strategy. The right candidate will thrive in deeply understanding the overall business strategy, loves technology and analytics, and can be thoughtful about ways to design marketing journeys tailored to various stages, profiles, and strategic objectives across the customer lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Database Management: Overseeing subscriber databases, maintaining list hygiene, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations like GDPR and CAN-SPAM. Build and maintain reporting that benchmarks and measures opt out rates, invalid and inactive email address trends, monitor sender score metrics, and manage merge record processes. Present findings to the business in a quarterly scorecard to drive strategic actions with maintaining and growing a healthy database of customers and prospects, and to drive deliverability improvements.
  • Audience Segmentation: Querying and building target lists based on customer behavior, demographics, or purchase history so the right audience receives the right email.
  • Personas Research: Work with marketing and product management to maintain current personas for targeted audience engagement. Develop the list of criteria across systems that can be leveraged to build robust personas that reflect the go to market strategy
  • Performance Analytics: Tracking metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates to measure the success of email strategies.
  • A/B Testing & Optimization: Analyzing which email elements perform best and using those insights to continuously optimize future messaging and deliverability.

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Experience with statistical programming (Python or R) and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) is highly preferred. Marketo experience preferred
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong capability in A/B testing, data modeling, predictive analytics, and translating raw data into actionable marketing strategies.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in marketing, statistics, computer science, economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: Usually 1 to 3 years of experience in data analysis, digital marketing, or database management.
  • Communication: The ability to present complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders and marketing teams.
