Job description

The Opportunity
We are seeking a revenue-driven marketing technology leader who will report the Director of Marketing and own/ scale our marketing technology, digital platforms, and marketing data ecosystem across the Memphis Grizzlies family of brands (Grizzlies, FedExForum, Memphis Hustle and Grind City Media)
This role is designed for a manager and strategic operator who will have four direct reports (Digital Product Manager, Software Engineer, UI/UX Developer and Marketing Analyst). We are looking for someone who leads a high-performing technical team, sets clear direction, and drives execution. Someone who understands how digital work gets done across websites, mobile apps, integrations, and marketing systems, but their strength is in prioritization, structure, and leadership.
The person will ensure our digital ecosystem operates as a connected, high-performing system that drives revenue, conversion, and fan growth. Success in this role will be measured by improvements in revenue, conversion rates, platform performance, and fan growth.
In This Role You Will
Leadership in a Fast-Paced Environment
  • Lead, coach, and develop a cross-functional team across product, engineering, UX, and marketing analytics, building a culture of accountability, growth, and high performance
  • Operate effectively in a high-volume, live sports and entertainment environment with competing priorities
  • Balance strategic thinking and operational execution to drive meaningful outcomes
  • Set clear priorities and align team efforts to revenue impact, business objectives, and fan growth

Digital Platforms & Revenue Growth
  • Oversee strategy and performance for websites and mobile apps as core revenue, engagement, and conversion platforms
  • Drive ecommerce and ticketing optimization, improving funnel performance and user journeys
  • Oversee development and continuous optimization in headless CMS and React-based environments

Marketing Technology & Systems Leadership
  • Own and evolve the end-to-end marketing technology ecosystem, including CRM, lifecycle marketing, automation, and communication platforms
  • Oversee API integrations, data pipelines, and system architecture, ensuring platforms are connected, scalable, and reliable
  • Define and manage the MarTech roadmap, including prioritization, vendor selection, and optimization including budget oversight and vendor management
  • Partner with IT, engineering, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and strong adoption
  • Provide technical leadership and direction, with a strong working knowledge of front/ back-end development (HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React etc.) tracking frameworks, and platform integrations - able to guide execution, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality, while leaning on specialized team members for development.

Project Leadership & Operational Excellence
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution with clear timelines, priorities, and accountability
  • Establish strong project management discipline (Wrike project management system knowledge a plus), including workflows, prioritization, and resource planning
  • Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders, ensuring visibility into progress, risks, and results
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and execution speed

Data, Analytics & Performance Optimization
  • Define and implement KPIs, measurement frameworks, and attribution models
  • Ensure proper tracking, tagging, and data collection infrastructure (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, tag management)
  • Working knowledge of SQL to validate data, QA reporting, and partner effectively with analytics and engineering on data models and queries
  • Partner with analytics teams while owning marketing data strategy and ensuring insights translate into actionable optimization strategies
  • Drive a test-and-learn culture, continuously improving conversion, engagement, and ROI

Platform Performance & Governance
  • Oversee the health, performance, and scalability of all digital platforms (site/app performance, SEO, reliability)
  • Ensure best practices in technical implementation, data governance, and system quality
  • Provide technical direction and oversight-guiding execution
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Experience You Will Bring
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing technology or similar role
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams across marketing and technical disciplines
  • Strong background in websites, mobile apps, APIs, and digital ecosystems, with the ability to guide technical execution
  • Experience driving revenue through ecommerce and digital conversion optimization
  • Deep familiarity with marketing technology ecosystems, including CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred), ESPs, and automation tools
  • Strong understanding of digital analytics, attribution models, tracking, and tag management systems
  • Experience building or managing data-driven marketing systems and lead generation programs
  • Experience working with engineering, product, and analytics teams in agile environments
  • Hands-on understanding of headless CMS and React JavaScript environments
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized with strong communication, prioritization, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
  • Passion for sports, technology, and digital innovation, with the ability to learn quickly and operate with minimal oversight
