**This position is based in Atlanta and is hybrid, reporting into the office two days a week.
The Senior Manager, Marketing Strategy serves as a strategic business partner across Cox Automotive's consumer marketing portfolio, supporting integrated marketing strategy for Autotrader, KBB, and multiple business units within each brand. This role translates complex business objectives into actionable marketing strategies, partnering with product, B2B and cross-functional marketing teams to deliver measurable business outcomes across both growth and retention business units. We are looking for a strategic marketer that thrives in ambiguous, fast paced environment, intellectually curious, collaborative and thrives when driving business outcomes.
What You'll Do
Business Unit Strategy Development
  • Working closely with Director, Marketing Strategy, own end-to-end marketing strategy for assigned business units while maintaining working knowledge of the full portfolio
  • Partner with product, B2B marketing, sales, and planning directors to align marketing strategy with business objectives
  • Develop strategic plans that balance short term goals with long term strategy
  • Navigate dual-sided marketplace dynamics where marketing must serve consumers, dealers, and business objectives
  • Lead strategic workstreams for major initiatives including product launches, competitive responses, partnership programs, and lifecycle optimization

Strategic Brief & Plan Development
  • Create comprehensive strategic briefs for media, creative, analytics, and lifecycle teams that articulate:
    • Business and partnership context across B2C and B2B dynamics
    • Target audience insights, segmentation, and journey mapping
    • Competitive landscape, positioning, and differentiation strategy
    • Key messages, creative territories, and campaign approach
    • Success metrics spanning awareness, consideration, conversion, and retention
    • Integration requirements across channels, touchpoints, and partners
  • Working with media agencies and cross functional media team, develop integrated campaign strategies spanning brand media, performance marketing, social, content, CRM/lifecycle, and partnership marketing
  • Along with media team, brief agencies with clear strategic direction that reflects full-funnel objectives and multi-stakeholder dynamics
  • Challenge and evaluate media recommendations to ensure alignment with business objectives and partnership requirements
  • Build strong agency relationships while maintaining appropriate accountability for business results

Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering
  • Build strong working relationships with business unit leaders across AT & KBB portfolios, serving as their trusted marketing strategy partner
  • Navigate complex stakeholder environments including:
    • Product teams
    • B2B marketing and sales teams
    • Business unit leaders
    • Cross-functional marketing teams (media, creative, analytics, CRM)
  • Participate in business planning cycles and contribute marketing perspective
  • Present strategic recommendations to senior leadership with clarity, confidence, and business acumen
  • Proactively identify business needs and opportunities, bringing strategic solutions that span acquisition and retention

Who You Are
Minimum:
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 8 years of marketing strategy, brand strategy, planning, or related experience. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years of experience; or 12 years' experience in a related field.
  • Proven experience developing integrated marketing strategies across brand, performance, and lifecycle channels
  • Background working with cross-functional teams (product, B2B, analytics, creative, media, CRM)
  • Experience in complex business environments - ideally marketplace, multi-sided platform, B2B2C, or automotive
  • Agency experience (planning, strategy) or client-side brand/marketing strategy strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of integrated marketing strategy across brand, performance, content, social, and lifecycle channels
  • Experience with digital marketing, e-commerce, online transactions, or marketplace business models
  • Strong strategic thinking - can analyze complex situations, synthesize insights from multiple sources, and develop clear, actionable recommendations
  • Systems thinking - sees connections across channels, touchpoints, business units, and partner ecosystems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - can create compelling strategic documents, briefs, and presentations
  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented while comfortable advocating for strategic point of view
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across multiple organizational layers
  • Travel: 25%

USD 111,500.00 - 185,900.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $111,500.00 - $185,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
