Job description

Digital Marketing Scrum Master

Specializing in account based marketing for B2B SaaS, iExcel is a digital marketing agency that builds demand generation engines that scale high growth companies. We audit and optimize existing marketing tech stacks as well as work with newly funded companies to build out best practice marketing systems with incredible speed. With an optimized demand gen engine, we can run marketing for our clients, empower their existing teams to run their marketing, or help them build their internal team if needed. The areas of digital marketing we provide services in include Search Advertising, Social Advertising, SEO, Social Media, Cold Outreach, Website Conversion Optimization, Marketing Automation & CRM, Analytics.

iExcel was founded by Chris Rodriguez, who has worked with over 30 startups across all tiers of funding (Seed to Series E), generating brand awareness, website traffic, signups, downloads, and most importantly customers and revenue. His data-driven approach to marketing is industry-agnostic and heavily influenced by "lean startup" (test, then build) and "growth hacking" (user acquisition + retention, conversion optimization, repeatability). Chris has helped grow 2 startups to acquisition (Speek, numberFire), 1 startup to growth equity (Phone2Action), and 1 startup to the INC 500 list (Contactually). He has been recognized by GrowthHackerTV as one of the top 200 experts on startup growth.

About The Role Are you a project manager who loves seeing things get checked off a task list? Do you love helping other people be successful in their roles? Are you looking to work in a fast-paced environment, with other experienced startup professionals? We are looking for a Scrum Master who wants to "roll up their sleeves" and get work done to make our digital agency more efficient and directly impact that rate at which we grow.

About You Our ideal Scrum Master is a self-motivated independent worker who also has strong collaboration skills and wants the opportunity to expand the amount of work our team is capable of getting done week to week. We're looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • You are curious, and enjoy the process of testing, learning, and iterating.
  • You have a successful track record managing projects and keeping teams focused.

  • You can commit quality time per week on a regular basis to help achieve team goals.
  • [BONUS] You're certified in Scrum and have experience adapting Scrum practices to projects outside of software development.

Your Responsibilities As a Scrum Master for iExcel, you will be responsible for implementing scrum practices within the team, facilitating standup meetings, gathering details for work to be done, ensuring those details are logged in our project management tools, and holding team members accountable to accomplishing the defined work.

  • Adapt scrum practices for our digital marketing agency.
  • Train and implement these scrum practices with our team.
  • Facilitate standup meetings and ensure tasks are logged for future work to be accomplished that arise in those meetings
  • Review and follow up with team members on tasks assigned to them.
  • Remove roadblocks for team members when they arise.
  • Report on progress of the team on a bi-weekly basis.
