Job description

Purpose of Job
The purpose of this job is to create and maintain year-round grassroots awareness of the Georgia Lottery throughout the state.  Duties include developing and cultivating relationships with players and retailers via delivery of fun and entertaining interactive displays and events.   Following the strategic promotional plan for the GLC, this position will support product introductions, corporate sponsorships, and other promotional affiliations by planning and coordinating activities that best maximize awareness of the GLC.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this job.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.   Other duties may be required and assigned.
 
Plans special events, promotions (in-person & digital) and in-store promotions within assigned geographical region and select partners (Major/Minor, Collegiate, Professional Sports Partnerships, and community events)
 
Plans launch activities and creation of new digital & onsite promotions.
 
Coordinates and handles event operations, including loading and unloading vans and trucks and assembling on-site set-up and tickets. 
 
Under supervision, distribute promotional tickets and contest prizes to winners. 
 
Responsible for concept, design and completion of memos, event signage, letters and special events contracts using Microsoft Office & Adobe Creative Suite.
 
Work directly with Event organizers and partners to develop contractual agreement for GLC sponsorships.
 
Under supervision of the Promotion & Marketing Manager, works with agency media buyers to identify promotional opportunities with local media and/or other local businesses. Work closely with district office personnel to coordinate promotional activities.
 
Coordinate with media representatives to implement media promotional activities, on air/digital contest, radio remotes/hits, web promotions and exclusive experiences. 
 
Coordinates staff activities at special events and in-store promotions.
 
Evaluate outcome of special events and in-store promotions.
 
Work directly with the GLC administration/fleet management department to maintain department fleet vehicles by coordinating routine vehicle maintenance. 
 
Responsible for maintaining marketing department promotional assets at GLC Warehouse by performing monthly inventory and reviews.   
 
Delivers clerical functions; prepares, maintain and updates files, reports and logs following prescribed methods.
 
Able to routinely lift and carry moderately heavy, (over 50 lbs.), materials and supplies.
 
Some marketing activities may require staff to stand and talk to customers for a long period of time.
 
Evening, weekend, and holiday work required. Overnight travel required.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, or Business preferred, with one to three or more years of special events planning or public relations experience preferred; must have excellent organizational and communication skills.   Requirements include:  a high school diploma or GED; a valid Georgia driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record; and the ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (up to 50 pounds) materials and supplies.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Word is required; experience with Excel and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.  Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job may be considered.
