It involves coordinating teams, managing resources, setting deadlines, and tracking progress to achieve marketing goals. Marketing project managers often collaborate with creative, digital, and sales teams to deliver successful campaigns. Their role is crucial for aligning marketing strategies with business objectives and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

How do marketing project managers typically coordinate with creative and analytics teams during a campaign?

Marketing Project Managers serve as the central point of communication between creative and analytics teams. They facilitate regular meetings to ensure creative assets align with campaign goals and that analytics teams have the data they need to measure performance. Job description

Marketing Project Manager

Columbus, OH โ€” hybrid schedule, on-site Tuesday - Thursday, remote Monday/Friday

  • Contract (W2), roughly 6-months (August onboarding through December), with a strong possibility of extension into the new year โ€” this brand has a track record of converting standout contractors
  • Hours: standard business hours, 9โ€“5
  • Interview process: streamlined โ€” a single conversation with the hiring manager
  • Pay: $30/hour, depending on experience

A well-known retail and lifestyle brand is looking for a Marketing Project Manager to join their marketing operations team on a contract basis to cover while a team member is on leave. You'll come in during August to learn the ropes alongside the current lead, then take the reins day-to-day from September through December โ€” right in the thick of planning and executing their Spring '27 season.

This is a great fit for someone who loves keeping many moving pieces on track: marketing calendars, creative timelines, cross-functional check-ins, and the dozens of small handoffs that keep a season on schedule. If you're organized, steady under a fast pace, and a natural communicator, you'll do well here.

What you'll be doing

  • Own marketing calendar planning and sprint execution for the spring season
  • Keep creative, photo, design, and strategy teams aligned on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
  • Track milestones, coordinate schedules, and flag risks or bottlenecks before they become problems
  • Facilitate planning sessions and check-ins, and keep everyone clear on what's coming next
  • Partner across marketing, creative, strategy, production, and digital teams to keep work moving

A quick note on how they work: the team runs a sprint-based operating model โ€” their own flavor of agile โ€” so you don't need formal Scrum certification. Just comfort working in sprints and a knack for keeping teams coordinated.

What we're looking for

  • Roughly 3โ€“5 years in marketing project management, program management, or marketing operations (a strong 2+ year candidate is welcome too)
  • Mid-level and self-directed โ€” someone who can run with things independently
  • A clear, confident communicator who's comfortable partnering across a lot of teams at once
  • Calm and organized in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with competing priorities
  • Retail, eCommerce, or consumer brand experience is a plus, not a must
  • Familiarity with tools like Airtable, Mural, and Microsoft Office is a nice-to-have
