Job description

AVI Foodsystems is seeking a driven, collaborative leader to immediately hire to fill the position of Procurement Manager, Foodservice at our Headquarters Service Center in Warren, OH.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day supply chain operations for food and related supplies across the foodservice division while meeting budget targets
  • Plan and purchase food, disposables, cleaning supplies, and services in a timely, cost-effective manner while maintaining quality, safety, and specification standards
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for goods and services
  • Forecast future procurement needs
  • Establish key performance indicators to drive savings and reduce cost of goods
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying new suppliers and products
  • Negotiate pricing on key ingredients and establish annual purchasing strategies
  • Prepare RFQs for all goods and services
  • Approve purchases in accordance with company policy
  • Coordinate pricing and approved vendor information with internal company departments, including Culinary, Marketing, Sales, and Finance
  • Partner with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate, timely invoice payment
  • Lead direct reports by providing clear direction, training, and support
  • Collaborate with other Procurement Managers in overlapping areas of responsibility

Requirements:

  • Three or more years of management-level purchasing or procurement experience within a hospitality-focused organization, such as restaurant groups, hotel chains, foodservice companies, or related purchasing groups
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Solid understanding of purchasing strategies and inventory management
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Product development experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to support effective buying decisions, resolve issues, improve processes, and reduce costs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Assertive, outgoing, and professional demeanor
  • Customer-focused with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Manage rebate programs, provide required documentation, and collect reporting
  • Partner with field operations, headquarters departments, and contract services on vendor setups, pricing, and payment terms
  • Conduct business reviews with vendors
  • Negotiate and approve pricing agreements and contracts for food goods and services on a monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual basis
  • Manage new account set-ups and changes with field operators.
