Job description

Marketing Operations Analyst

IANS Research Revenue Operations

Hybrid - 2 days on site in Boston required

Reports to: Director, Marketing Operations

$80,000 - $100,000 + bonus

About the Role

The Revenue Operations team at IANS is hiring a detail-oriented Marketing Operations Analyst to be the operator of our marketing data and systems. You'll be the person who keeps our HubSpot database clean, accurate, and optimized, working alongside AI and automation tools.

This is a hands-on role designed for someone who wants to work with AI, not around it. You'll partner closely with the Director of Marketing Operations, the Marketing Automation Manager (Demand Gen), and the CRM Operations team. You'll be the human-in-the-loop for our automated enrichment, deduplication, and data quality systems - and you'll help us continuously improve how those systems work.

If you care about data quality, enjoy the work of cleaning and standardizing records, take pride in keeping systems optimized and reliably maintained - and you're genuinely curious about how AI can make all of that better - this role is built for you.

What You'll Do

HubSpot administration

  • Administer HubSpot at the platform level: manage user permissions, teams, property definitions, and record configurations.
  • Own HubSpot property management: create, modify, and retire properties; maintain dropdown values and dependencies; keep the data model clean and documented.
  • Maintain workflow and integration health: audit active workflows for errors and outdated logic; monitor third-party integrations and the Salesforce sync.
  • Keep the workspace organized: maintain campaign, list, and folder structure; manage import settings and dedupe configurations; stay current on platform updates and evaluate new features.

Database hygiene, growth & enrichment

  • Oversee data quality in HubSpot: deduplication, standardization, missing-field cleanup, persona/buyer-type tagging, and bounce management.
  • Monitor HubSpot to Salesforce sync errors with AI-assisted triage; resolve routine issues, investigate the patterns AI flags as unusual, and escalate the more unusual ones.
  • Maintain suppression and do-not-contact lists; ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM, and internal opt-out rules.
  • Run recurring database health reports, partnering with AI to surface emerging issues before they become campaign problems.
  • Operate our AI-driven enrichment workflows built on ZoomInfo and other third-party sources; review automated outputs, QA samples, and handle the edge cases where human judgement matters.
  • Process list and segmentation requests against ICP criteria and persona definitions, using AI to accelerate list-building from plain-language requests.
  • Audit AI-enriched records for accuracy, dedupe against existing data, and push clean records into HubSpot.
  • Track database growth metrics and contribute to weekly/monthly reporting.

Segmentation & campaign data support

  • Assist with building and maintaining HubSpot lists, segments, and audience pulls that feed nurture programs, campaigns, and sales outreach.
  • Support inbound lead flow operations - ensure leads route correctly, are enriched on entry, and land in the right segments.
  • Audit campaign UTM and taxonomy compliance; flag inconsistencies to the Marketing Automation Manager.

Reporting & continuous improvement

  • Pull recurring reports for marketing, sales, and leadership stakeholders, leveraging AI to draft summaries and surface insights, then refining with your own analysis.
  • Build report filters and lists from clearly defined criteria; support A/B test analysis with clean audience pulls and result reporting.
  • Continuously improve our AI workflows - refine criteria, document edge cases, and flag where the automation is getting things wrong so we can tune it.
  • Document processes and SOPs as you learn them to build a reference library for the team.
What We're Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Data Science, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5 years of marketing operations, marketing data, or database administration experience.
  • HubSpot certified, with hands-on administration experience - properties, workflows, user/team setup, integrations, and reports.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Clay.com, or comparable third-party contact data platforms and orchestration tools.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (lookups, pivot tables, formulas, large datasets).
  • Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and data privacy best practices.
  • Genuine comfort working alongside AI tools. You've used AI in your day-to-day work, you know its strengths and limitations, and you're energized by being the human reviewer who makes automated systems better.
  • Strong attention to detail. You catch the things other people miss, and you take pride in clean, accurate work - including catching where AI gets things wrong.
  • Good written communication and cross-functional collaboration - able to document processes, write clear specs, and ask sharp questions.
  • Self-directed. Comfortable owning recurring work, triaging issues, and knowing when to escalate vs. when to fix.

Strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and the integration of Salesforce and HubSpot.
  • Familiarity with B2B marketing concepts: lead lifecycle, scoring, MQL/SQL definitions, account tiering, persona tagging.
  • Experience supporting A/B testing and campaign performance analysis.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools for data work: enrichment, deduplication, standardization, list-building, summarization, or quality checks.
  • Experience improving an automated or AI-driven workflow; refining prompts, tuning criteria, identifying false positives, or building feedback loops.

Bonus

  • Light SQL, or experience writing report filters from a data dictionary.
  • Experience in cybersecurity, professional services, or B2B research.
