Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager of Customer Marketing serves as a leader within the segment as a component of the trifecta of leadership (Sales, Technical, Marketing) from Zoetis. This individual will be consistently interacting with field sales management to maintain industry awareness, production segment dynamics and competitive insights. He/She will serve as the Sales Subject Matter Expert on the marketing team, bringing a critical eye to strategy, campaign development, and key messaging to ensure value to the field. They are responsible for clearly communicating marketing strategy (branded and above brand) to colleagues in the field, increasing utilization of marketing materials, and leading development of marketing resources (as needed) to meet segment objectives. The incumbent will become the internal marketing expert on field and customer needs and work across the portfolio with other Marketing Managers and business unit leaders to leverage customer insights effectively. Additionally, they are responsible for elevating the overall effectiveness of marketing pull through among colleagues. The Senior Manager will maintain a high level of interaction with relevant Zoetis functional areas such as the field force, Sales Management, Marketing, Technical Services, Livestock Customer Strategic Value, Strategic Pricing, Finance, Demand Planning, Global Commercial Development, and marketing agencies to ensure proper execution and implementation of the overall marketing efforts. They will remain up to date on beef industry trends and share insights on impacts to demand forecasts. In this position he/she will be responsible for managing the A&P assigned budget, ensuring proper resource allocation, and adapting the development of content by working closely with Marketing Communications/Coordinators.
The Senior Manager is responsible for formulation of long-term marketing strategy and implementation to drive in-line and launch Zoetis brand growth in targeted accounts.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
* Share market research (as appropriate) to increase industry acumen of customer partners and internal team. - Build beef market dashboard - Animalytix, MP Agrilytics, Tableau, Power BI, etc. and brief the Beef Marketing Team monthly.
* Serves as beef marketing PULSE expert by bringing insights from the field to marketing, and vice versa.
* Maintain a consistent, updated account of competitive programs and identify ways to position us against them.
* Lead in the production of various literature, promotional items, advertising, etc. and other materials to be used at field marketing events.
* Conduct and implement beef market research to provide knowledge and insights that can drive strategy.
* Collaborate with PAH on the development of Beef Optix and be the marketing representative for that.
* Serve as the sales subject matter expert on the marketing team. Collaborate with field to ensure value of marketing resources. Ownership of across brand marketing and ensuring alignment with field sales/tech services.
* Increase impact of BRD Solutions across the entire beef portfolio by bringing together sales and marketing. Will be responsible for BRD Solutions strategy and all work with marketing agency.
* Work closely with Associate Director of Livestock Customer Strategy Value ensuring that data driven customer engagement aligns with beef across brand strategies.
* Be the first line of contact for ABM's, TBM's, and Technical Service Veterinarians and Nutritionists when they have specific, customer facing marketing material requests.
* Work closely with the Retail team, Channel Marketing and National Account Managers to identify pull through opportunities, program strategies, and merchandising tactics through active engagement with these customers and IDSR's. Utilizing PULSE to build target lists and identify strategic opportunities.
* Increase impact of available resources across brands: work with FF colleagues to deepen understanding and utilization of available marketing materials/programs and appropriate use/targeting
* Work with Sales, Marketing, Technical, and Learning & Development leadership to improve field force execution and customer interactions by identifying and assisting in removal of barriers - building value into Summer Sales Meetings, National Sales Meetings, etc.
* Work cross-functionally with Associate Director, Livestock Customer Strategic Value to leverage Value Added Services across the beef sales and marketing teams.
* Develops processes by which we deliver technical knowledge to the field sales team so that it is persuasive.
* Responsible to become the internal marketing expert, with the need to work across the portfolio with other Marketing Managers and business unit leaders to leverage customer insights effectively
* Oversee marketing agency deliverables, as well as other external suppliers, to ensure partner capabilities and effectiveness meet the teams needs and work and resources are deployed appropriately, while working with the Marketing Communications team to manage assigned A&P budget.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* BA/BS required (business or communications). MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
Professional:
* 7-10 years of related commercial, marketing, sales or cattle industry related experience required.
* Successful animal health sales experience, preferably in beef cattle industry
* Animal health, pharmaceutical and/or agricultural experience preferred.
* Computer experience: Windows, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Acrobat Pro; SAP.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
* Excellent marketing operations and marketing communications skills and knowledge.
* Proven track record of sales success with understanding of how to influence customer decision making
* Demonstrated budget management acumen.
* Strong writing, editing and verbal communications skills.
* Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and deliver high performance and quality on deadline.
* Demonstrated ability to provide innovative and efficient solutions to deliver programs and initiatives that meet marketing objectives and business strategies.
* Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams.
* Proven ability to think strategically and act decisively.
* Must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, accountability, and willingness to accept challenges and lead change.
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
* > 25% travel.
* The preferred location is Texas, but the position can be reasonably located in Oklahoma, Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Mississippi, Louisiana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Minnesota, or Tennesee.
