Job description

Business Development Engineer

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a Hi-Rel & Space strategy for MACOMs MMIC portfolio  
  • Engage with sales team and key customers to understand system and market requirements
  • Work closely with engineering team to define product attributes to meet customer and market requirements with defined strategy to win
  • Develop complete product roadmap to address future customer and market needs based on key industry trends and leveraging MACOM capabilities
  • Develop deep understanding of customer needs and competitor portfolios with a view to defining highly differentiated products with clear competitive advantages
  • Work closely with engineering management to define new capabilities which need to be developed to address future needs of market and customers
  • Manage complete lifecycle of product portfolio from concept through development, volume production and obsolescence
  • Manage quarterly forecasting and execution of revenue and margin against annual operating plan
Key Attributes:
  • Strong technical knowledge of RF and Microwave components and communications systems
  • Ability to work closely with engineering teams to evaluate tradeoffs and make decisions for optimum business success
  • A desire to work across organizational functions to innovate and provide differentiated solutions to customer problems
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels of customer organization from executive management to technical leadership
  • Team player who enjoys solving problems collaboratively
