About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a driven and entrepreneurial Vice President, Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to lead business development efforts within our Emerging Middle Market Banking segment, serving companies with annual revenues of $25 million to $100 million. This is an opportunity for a proven commercial banker who thrives on creating new relationships, uncovering opportunities, and helping growing businesses achieve their strategic objectives.

This RM will focus on building a franchise across the Connecticut market through proactive prospecting, network development, and consultative client engagement. The ideal candidate is a strong business developer with established market credibility, sound credit acumen, and a demonstrated ability to win new client relationships while delivering the full capabilities of Wells Fargo to clients and prospects. This role is aligned to the Connecticut market and will focus on privately held, family-owned, sponsor-backed, and growth-oriented businesses throughout the state.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to acquire and grow relationships with Emerging Middle Market companies throughout Connecticut.

  • Build a consistent pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, centers of influence, and active participation in the local business community.

  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with business owners, executives, private equity sponsors, attorneys, CPAs, and other key decision-makers.

  • Structure, negotiate, and execute commercial banking solutions, including cash flow lending, commercial real estate financing, treasury management, and other capital solutions.

  • Partner across Wells Fargo to deliver the firm's full suite of products and services, creating customized solutions that address complex client needs.

  • Lead relationship planning activities to deepen engagement and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Collaborate with credit partners and product specialists to develop and present comprehensive banking solutions.

  • Maintain strong sales discipline, pipeline management, and client activity within CRM systems.

  • Serve as a market ambassador for Wells Fargo, enhancing the firm's visibility and reputation throughout Connecticut's business community.

  • Navigate complex client situations, manage risk appropriately, and ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • Completion of a formal commercial credit training program with demonstrated proficiency in financial statement analysis, cash flow lending, credit underwriting, risk assessment, and loan structuring, or equivalent commercial credit experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success acquiring new commercial banking relationships and generating sustained revenue growth

  • Experience serving companies with annual revenues between $25MM and $100MM

  • Formal commercial credit training program completion or equivalent credit underwriting experience

  • Strong understanding of commercial lending, treasury management, capital markets, and broader commercial banking solutions

  • Ability to structure and discuss complex financing solutions with business owners, executive leadership teams, and financial sponsors

  • Established network of business owners, attorneys, CPAs, private equity professionals, and centers of influence throughout Connecticut

  • Proven ability to build, retain, and grow long-term client relationships in a highly competitive market

  • Strong business development, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across product, credit, and risk partners to deliver exceptional client outcomes

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$167,000.00 - $260,000.00
