Job Description:

DTN is seeking a Market Reporter to produce timely, accurate, and insightful reporting that supports critical decisions across the refined fuels industry.

As part of the DTN Energy editorial team, you will be a primary contributor to Marketwire, DTN's daily publication providing pricing and market intelligence for nearly 90 fuel types. Your reporting and price assessments will help suppliers, retailers, and traders understand market-moving developments and navigate a complex energy landscape.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Produce daily price assessments across a broad range of refined fuel products for DTN's real-time market ticker
  • Write concise and impactful news summaries covering developments within refined fuels markets
  • Monitor and report on global events and market conditions affecting energy trends
  • Provide consistent coverage of NYMEX oil futures and other market-moving developments
  • Research, verify, and communicate market information with a strong focus on accuracy, clarity, and timeliness
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry contacts at fuel suppliers and retailers
  • Leverage industry relationships to strengthen DTN's market reporting, pricing intelligence, and customer insights
  • Collaborate with editorial colleagues and contribute to a variety of reporting and content assignments
  • Represent DTN at select industry events to expand market knowledge, strengthen relationships, and support DTN's presence within the refined fuels industry

What You Will Bring to the Position

  • 3-5 years of experience reporting on energy markets
  • At least 1 year of experience conducting basis price assessments
  • Strong understanding of refined fuels markets and broader energy industry dynamics
  • Established industry contacts within refined fuels markets, particularly in the Gulf Coast or New York Harbor regions
  • Exceptional writing, editing, research, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to editorial accuracy
  • Ability to communicate complex market developments clearly and concisely
  • Collaborative and adaptable approach with the ability to support varied editorial assignments

Compensation

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $62,000 and $82,000. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
