THE ROLE

Avocado is seeking a Market Sales Manager to join our growing retail leadership team.

This role is designed for strong leaders ready to oversee multiple locations. The Senior Market Manager will directly oversee our North East Market, including daily operations of a designated home store, and will provide coaching, operational support, and strategic alignment across their region.

You'll partner closely with the Director of Retail Sales to ensure every showroom delivers an exceptional brand experience and drives both retail and digital performance.

This role requires a proactive, hands-on leader who is willing to accept responsibility for the performance of their region as a whole and ensure every location meets Avocado's high standards of excellence.

  • Note on Location: You will be working on-site at any of the assigned locations (New York, Brooklyn, Hoboken). This is not a remote position.
  • Note on Pay Transparency:. The pay range for this role is $70.000,00 - $88.750,00 Yearly DOE.


WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

Leadership & Performance

  • Lead by example in sales and service while providing real-time coaching and feedback.

  • Create, report, and track KPIs around sales, operations, and guest experience.

  • Conduct monthly performance reviews and ensure teams are accountable for results.

  • Provide feedback, identify opportunities, and suggest improvements to enhance the retail experience and operational efficiency.
    Train and develop teams on new products, selling strategies, and brand initiatives.

  • Partner with the Director of Sales to drive profitability, achieve goals, and support company-wide projects.

  • Accept accountability for the overall success and performance of your region and reach out for support as needed to ensure excellence.

Guest Experience & Sales

  • Act as a visible advocate and spokesperson for the Avocado brand.
    Engage directly with guests to ensure an exceptional in-store and digital experience.

  • Manage escalated customer situations, guiding teams on effective issue resolution.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Customer Experience, Production, Logistics) to maintain service excellence and minimize returns.

  • Support both physical and virtual events and community initiatives that represent Avocado in local markets.

Operations & Store Oversight

  • Manage the condition, presentation, and operational excellence of your home store.

  • Conduct regular audits and visits to ensure consistency and compliance across all assigned locations.
    Oversee inventory accuracy, cost control, and maintenance coordination.

  • Monitor scheduling and staffing coverage across your stores.

  • Maintain communication and alignment between locations, ensuring consistency in standards and culture.

Digital Sales & Communication

  • Drive digital engagement through chats, calls, and virtual appointments.

  • Ensure teams manage CRM follow-ups and digital guest communication efficiently.

  • Reinforce best practices that bridge in-store and digital selling for a seamless guest journey.

Community & Brand Representation

  • Champion our brand's values and sustainability mission within your stores and community.

  • Attend local events and represent Avocado at partner and regional initiatives.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum of 5 years of retail experience, including retail / store management experience (e.g. at least keyholder) and experience managing store employees.

  • Passionate about our brand's values of healthy living, environmental awareness, and social responsibility; previous experience working for a brand with similar values is a plus!

  • Experience in creating, reporting, and tracking KPIs / OKRs around sales goals.

  • Previous experience running branded events is a plus.

  • Invested in creating a balanced and healthy environment for staff and guests.

  • A team player who actively contributes to the team in order to complete tasks, meet goals or manage projects.

  • An entrepreneurial spirit to elevate your specific location.

  • Regular and predictable attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Mobility: The ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Movement: The ability to execute repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers; including reaching or bending repeatedly.

  • Move: Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

  • Lift: Capability to lift up to 200 pounds using lifting aids and/or equipment.

  • Operate: Constantly operates a computer and other office machines such as printers and tablets.

  • Communicate: This role frequently communicates with other team members to update on the status of a task.

  • Travel: Travel regularly (60%-80%) between assigned stores and regional events. Travel can be done by train, airplane or car.
