BASIC FUNCTION

The Market Manager is responsible for the successful business development of their market which includes business planning and budgeting and attaining commercial deposit, loan and revenue goals. They are also responsible for development of a business referral network (Centers of influence (COl's)which will drive the majority of their BD growth, prospecting of potential clients, active participation in business networking events and holding leadership roles within community and business organizations to build our business brand recognition and to extend name recognition and the reputation of the Bank. The Market Manager is responsible for the coaching, performance management and talent management of their direct reports. They are also responsible for overseeing their market branches operational and compliance proficiencies, sales success and the development of the branch employees while ensuring that the branch practices sound risk management and adheres to all policies and procedures of the Bank. Market Manager's manage more than one branch. The Market Manager is responsible for spending a minimum of 75% of their time outside the office doing business development. The other 25% of their time should be spent on coaching, branch observations, administrative/reporting responsibilities and filling in for the FCM only when instructed to do so by the VP of Sales.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market Manager is responsible for the acquisition of profitable new commercial banking deposit and lending relationships for their market area
  • Create and develop with their Financial Center Managers an annual business plan for each branch that roles up to the market with strategies, tactics and expectations
  • Develop and cultivate a minimum of 2-3 Centers of Influence that actively refer profitable commercial deposit and lending relationships with one being a CPA
  • Actively involved in business organizations within their market area and hold leadership positions within those business organizations
  • Responsible for the consistent monthly coaching and development of their Financial Center Managers
  • Responsible for overseeing and holding their Financial Center Managers accountable to managing the sales management, performance management, talent management, operations/compliance management, service management and coaching/employee development processes within their respective branches
  • Responsible for working with Financial Center Managers to create a budget that they hold each FCM accountable to achieving
  • Holds FCM accountable to achieving branch sales, service, operational and compliance expectations
  • Responsible for working in the branch for coverage purposes if asked by senior management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises Financial Center Managers. Indirectly supervises branch personnel through subordinate supervisors.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience

  • 7 years in a retail bank sales/service management
  • 3-5 years management/supervisory experience
