Full-time, Part-time, Contractor

Job description

$85/hour (1099)

Marathon & Tavernier, Florida

The Opportunity

There's a reason people vacation in the Florida Keys โ€” and now you can practice emergency medicine there instead of just visiting. This role covers two small, modern EDs in Marathon and Tavernier, giving you the clinical variety of two departments and the lifestyle of island living, all in one position.

Why You'll Love This Role

Strong hourly pay. $85/hour as a 1099 independent contractor.

Two distinct EDs, one contract. Split time between Fishermen's Hospital in Marathon (11 beds, roughly 10,000 annual visits) and Mariner's Hospital in Tavernier (9 beds, roughly 12,000 annual visits) โ€” enough volume to stay sharp, small enough to actually know your team.

Consistent shift structure. 12pโ€“8p shifts across both facilities, with flexibility available for part-time or full-time coverage.

One EMR system. Both hospitals run on Cerner, so there's no switching between platforms as you move between sites.

Malpractice coverage included. Tail coverage is provided.

A setting most people only get on vacation. Crystal-clear water, world-class fishing and boating, and a slower pace than most EDs offer.

What Your Week Looks Like

At Fishermen's Hospital in Marathon, shifts run 12pโ€“8p on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. At Mariner's Hospital in Tavernier, shifts are also 12pโ€“8p, scheduled as needed. You'll work independently to assess, diagnose, and treat patients across both emergency departments, managing patient flow in a small-hospital setting while collaborating closely with physicians and the broader care team.

What We're Looking For
  • 2 years of recent emergency medicine experience in a hospital-based ER
  • Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
  • Active Florida NP/PA license, or license eligibility
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications required
  • Comfortable in a collaborative, fast-paced, small-ED environment
Ready to Apply?

If island living and emergency medicine sound like a combination you didn't know you needed, let's talk.
