The Opportunity

Talco Workforce is hiring experienced Marine Electricians for steady, year-round shipyard work along the Gulf Coast.

This is a strong opportunity for electricians who want consistent hours, overtime potential, and long-term work on specialized marine vessels. We are especially interested in skilled tradespeople who are open to coming to Louisiana or Mississippi for stable shipyard assignments with ongoing project demand.

What You’ll Do

• Install and route electrical wiring, cable, conduit, panels, and power distribution components on marine vessels.
• Run cable trays, pull wire, terminate connections, and support control panel installation.
• Bend conduit and perform layout work based on job requirements and vessel conditions.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using meters and standard testing equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems and identify issues before they become larger problems.
• Work safely in confined vessel spaces, high-humidity environments, and active shipyard conditions.
• Follow shipyard safety procedures and use required PPE at all times.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, shipyard teams, and Talco representatives.

What We’re Looking For

• Prior experience as a marine, shipyard, or industrial electrician.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, voltage, amperage, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and work from electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience using standard electrical hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers, meters, and testing equipment.
• Ability to run cable, bend conduit, and install electrical components in a shipyard or industrial environment.
• Comfort working in confined spaces, climbing ladders, and lifting materials as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to pass any client-side interview, written test, or trade evaluation if required.

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years of marine or industrial electrical experience.
• Shipyard experience strongly preferred.
• Trade school, technical certification, or related electrical training preferred.
• Experience with marine vessel power, lighting, navigation, or control systems.
