Job description

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a MarineBuyer Ito join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA.In this role you will be responsiblefor the Procurement, Inventory Control, Administration and Coordination of Parts and Accessories to ensure the support and accomplishment of corporate goals and objectives.

What you'll be doing:

  • Execute strategic procurement plan using inventory and supplier metrics in support of strategic business objectives.
  • Create and execute purchases and perform purchase order maintenance.
  • Establish supplier delivery plans to minimize stock-outs.
  • Support the company's initiatives to ensure adequate inventory is available to support initiatives, promotions, or events.
  • Perform system maintenance as required.
  • Keep Management informed of key issues and forward weekly status and other requested reports as required.
  • Manage supplier relationships for assigned new and/or active parts and accessories.
  • Act as the facilitator and relationship management champion balancing Yamaha's and the Supplier's needs.
  • Coordination and Project Management of any Inventory or Cost Reduction Initiatives.
  • Support the organizations' Green Procurement, CTPAT, and federally or State mandated initiatives as required.
  • Assist other department personnel with supplier related activities (i.e., receiving problem discrepancies, invoicing discrepancies, etc.)
  • Support the department's initiatives required to meet corporate compliance requirements related to JSOX, CPSC, 10+2, ECCN, NAFTA, etc.
  • Manage, coordinate and execute special projects and tasks as assigned.

What you need to be successful:

  • BS/BA in quantitative discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of four years' experience in Purchasing and Material Planning in a high-volume, transaction-oriented environment.
  • SAP required and intermediate Microsoft Excel capability required.
  • Strong communication (written and oral), planning and organization skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  • This is an onsite position.
