Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who will support EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades Project at James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, Tampa, Florida. You will provide project management support for VA design and construction activities, overseeing project schedules, budgets, stakeholder coordination, risk management, issue resolution, and project reporting while supporting the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) throughout project execution.

This position is contingent upon the award of the contract. If awarded, the anticipated period of performance is for a one-year base period with three additional option years.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage professional and technical services for VA design and construction project delivery.
  • Provide management advice on assigned projects.
  • Assist, review, analyze, and report project schedule and budget to the COR/CO.
  • Proactively resolve issues, minimize claims, and mitigate project delays.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, standards, plans, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, authorities having jurisdiction, and compliance bodies to develop solutions.
  • Review project schedules continuously and recommend prioritization of critical path activities.
  • Facilitate and document project meetings.
  • Manage construction documentation, correspondence, and as-built records.
  • Develop and maintain the Project Management Plan (including communication, schedule, quality, and risk management).
  • Monitor project financials, including budget tracking and cost control.
  • Support construction contract administration, including change orders and pay application reviews.
  • Maintain inspection logs, schedules, and records for issue tracking and resolution.
  • Review contract change requests and provide analysis to the COR.
  • Track required tests and inspections and report discrepancies.
  • Maintain marked-up drawings for as-built documentation.
  • Support RFI reviews and responses.
  • Coordinate owner-furnished equipment and review O&M manuals and closeout submittals.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited university in lieu of a degree, fifteen (15) years of directly related experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in management of facility construction projects, including supervision of engineering, design and construction, schedule control, cost management, program budgeting, and overall project management activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills when coordinating with construction team members.
  • Healthcare project/facility experience preferred.
  • Meet or exceed applicable professional practice and performance standards, including TJC, OSHA, and VA policies and design standards.
  • Possess the requisite background to support the specified project.
