Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Operations Manager of Pre Owned Boats and ATVs oversees the company's used boat and ATV organizational processes, inventory, and operations to ensure productivity and quality. The role is responsible for managing merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, staff training and development, and customer service experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manages wholesale partnerships and auction relationships to maximize inventory acquisition, remarketing opportunities, and profitability.
  • Oversees marketing initiatives for pre-owned boats and ATVs, partnering with internal marketing teams to increase awareness, customer engagement, and sales performance.
  • Monitors company websites and digital sales platforms to ensure pre-owned inventory is accurately represented, properly merchandised, and fully visible to customers.
  • Supports a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Executes all sales plans to meet or exceed financial plans as set by the company.
  • Conducts evaluations, purchases/trades, and prices used power sport inventory.
  • Oversees remarketing of used power sports units.
  • Monitors sales and aging of inventory to ensure progress toward profitability and sales goals.
  • Utilizes reports, analyzes information and monitors trends to identify opportunities in the business.
  • Prepares and administers an annual operating forecast and budget for the used power sports sales department.
  • Conduct training and development with dealership outfitters related to TMBC Trade In process and procedures.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect used power sports sales.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Business
  • Certificate(s) or License(s):
  • Years of experience: 2+ years in dealership retail, wholesale, pre-owned inventory management, or related industry experience. Marine, powersports, RV, or automotive experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Experience managing online inventory listings and digital merchandising across multiple sales platforms.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with wholesale partners, auction providers, and dealership teams.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, in a friendly and professional manner establishing effective working relationships with vendors, customers, co-workers and Base Camp Team members. Strong negotiation skills are a plus.
  • Sales and trend forecasting experience.
  • Experience with used evaluations.
  • Strong math aptitude to be able to calculate figures and amounts and to interpret a variety of financial, legal and technical information.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Demonstrate a positive leadership style while communicating to outfitters and managers and encouraging feedback for company improvement.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, database management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • 20% to auction sites and facility locations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly sits, stands, walks and works with computers
Seldom / Never lifts up to 50lbs
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs need assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
