Job description

Duties (NOT ALL INCLUSIVE):
  • Organize and supervise daily beach operations.
  • Managing daily set up and breakdown of the beach equipment.
  • Providing continuous training to staff and guests on use of watersports equipment.
  • Supervise, create, monitor, and enforce all standards, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff is delivering quality guest experience.
  • Assigning and delegating daily tasks to watersports team.
  • Providing safety briefs to guest going in the water.
  • Identifies and reports maintenance needs of watersports equipment.
  • Light maintenance of equipment and make recommendations for equipment replacement.
  • Provide a positive environment and motivate staff to achieve sales, superior guest service and promote RED.
  • Assist with Hobie Cat and Sailing lessons and training.
  • Assist with completion of dinghy training and record keeping of evolutions.
  • Promote weekly/monthly staff training in all aspects of the watersports center, sales, watersports and safety.
  • Adjust schedules for call outs and emergency time-off.
  • Create and manage beach butler service and cabana rental program.
  • Financial management of department P&L
  • Planning and execution of special events/promotions
  • Assist with dock management.
  • Community engagement efforts
  • Recruiting, hiring, onboarding and performance management.
  • Other projects and/or duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or its' equivalent from an accredited institution (Preferred)
  • Previous experience in customer service and/or equivalent work experience PLUS
  • Supervisor experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be able to walk on various types of surfaces including rough terrain, sitting, standing, maintaining balance, on the beach, in the water, and working alone.
  • Must be able to work various work settings such as exposure to sunlight and outside temperature.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all persons contacted during the work.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply regulations and safe practices.
  • Ability to operate assigned equipment, read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely.
  • Must be able to operate with little or no supervision.
  • Must be willing to work holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude.
