Job description

The Marine Surveyor/Senior Marine Surveyor is responsible for conducting comprehensive surveys and inspections of vessels, including new construction projects and existing ships, to ensure compliance with international standards, classification society rules, and regulatory requirements. This role involves technical expertise, project oversight, and collaboration with shipyards, owners, and regulatory bodies to maintain safety, quality, and operational integrity.

Full-time position

The role New Construction Oversight:
  • Monitor and inspect shipbuilding processes, including hull fabrication, machinery installation, and outfitting.
  • Review and approve construction procedures and specifications for compliance with classification and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct progressive inspections during construction phases and attend sea trials.
Existing Vessel Surveys:
  • Perform condition assessments, damage surveys, and compliance inspections on in-service vessels.
  • Evaluate structural integrity, machinery performance, and safety systems.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and recommend corrective actions or repairs.
  • Regulatory & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to IMO conventions, flag state regulations, and classification society standards.
  • Liaise with shipowners, operators, and regulatory authorities to resolve compliance issues.
  • Technical Support & Advisory
  • Provide expert guidance on marine engineering, hull structures, and safety systems.
  • Support risk assessments and incident investigations.
