Job Purpose

The Marine Shows and Events Coordinator will support the dept/division by coordinating and managing all aspects of Shows and Events for American Honda's Marine Division. 

Key Accountabilities
  • Budgeting, Event Planning, Scouting, and Reporting (Budget planning and tracking through budget period based on key focus product, volumes, and categories of product being focused on. Event planning is taking direction from senior leadership to build event plans that ensure the correct units and display properties are presented properly to consumers and attendees at a location that best represents the planned utilization of the product. Scouting involves first researching potential event locations then traveling to top selections to determine feasibility of the event at that location. Reporting after the events includes creating presentations to share with management.) 
  • Event display and properties planning and management. This would include working with vendors to plan event display and ensure that the appearance and products match the goals of the Marine division. 
  • At-event management (Honda person in charge of hired vendors as well Honda person on-site for promoter or location representatives to communicate with.)
  • Logistics management (All activity regarding requesting and reviewing transportation/display quotes from varied vendors, selecting and confirming the business with the selected trucking agency, while also organizing and setting up pickups for units loaned to vendors, influencers, and endemic media outlets all while ensuring budget parameters are met) 
  • Department Inventory Management (All activities in regard to planning and ordering units, ensuring Marine products arrive in time for Shows/Events. Also responsible for future disposition from inventory.) 
  • Provide support at PS&P related events as necessary
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent marine industry work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Marine/Boat industry, or OEM experience required.
  • Successful applicant should have familiarity of marine engine & marine business and marketing, including overall product knowledge of the Honda line-up and a good understanding of competitive products.
  • Applicant must be comfortable in a role that requires public speaking to large groups with expertise in our product categories.
  • Prior event coordination, attendance, and execution preferred.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)

  • Frequent travel necessary for Marine/Boat events and shows.
