Job Duties
Provides fiscal support to the Business Office with emphasis on accounts payable. Processes, reviews, and analyzes a range of data to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures. Performs technical fiscal and accounting duties by preparing and maintaining fiscal records and reports. Ensures all accounting transactions are completed in accordance with Department of Corrections (DOC) and Department of Accounts (DOA) policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with numerical data and to make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately. Working knowledge of sound bookkeeping/accounting principles and practices. Demonstrated ability to prepare routine financial reports and statements. Considerable knowledge of office practices, procedures, and office equipment. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel to accomplish office support requirements. Demonstrated skill in inputting data into an automated database other than Microsoft Office. Demonstrated ability to provide information and communicate effectively with employees and staff. Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow prescribed operating instructions and related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Additional Considerations
Advance Knowledge in accounting/bookkeeping or equivalent training. Working knowledge of State Financial Programs including CARDINAL, FAACS, eVA, Inmate Trust, and Inmate Pay. Knowledge of State travel policies.
