Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Autonomous Controller/Mapper to join our team. The successful candidate is responsible for operating the Autonomous System during the Automation Project and completion of Autonomous Haulage training at Nevada Gold Mines, Cortez Operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Be trained and deemed competent in the operation of the Autonomous Haulage System
  • Manage truck assignment and performance safely and in accordance with OEM manual, aligned to the Nevada Gold Mines safety standards
  • Maximize utilization of autonomous system and maintain the achievement of daily KPIs aligning to the Nevada Gold Mines production targets
  • Identify areas for optimization and performance improvement throughout the shift and communicate amongst the internal partners
  • Collaborate with field and office personnel to support the execution of the daily plan during installation through to productive haulage
  • Identify issues or system faults to be recorded and reported to supervision or supporting partners
  • Perform daily area inspections and checklist activities for compliance while maintaining a high operational supportive of the autonomous system
  • Participate in scheduling the refueling of autonomous equipment and other maintenance or calibration activities with support of internal partners
  • Maintain virtual mine model map that reflects the actual operational environment of the autonomous haulage fleet
  • Survey and manage data for virtual map management. With the ability to read and understand mine design and mining production plans
  • Develop and maintain in depth technical knowledge on the AHS system, operation, and support functions
  • Participate in developing a training model, curriculum, and competency evaluation for Autonomous Operations and Maintenance at NGM
  • Utilize employee engagement tools to gauge perception and effectiveness of autonomous project communications
  • Promote open communication between all levels of the organization
  • Ensure safe and environmentally responsible project implementation with all staff, consultants, and contractors
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years practical experience in a dispatching role, preferably in a position in the open pit mining environment required
  • Five (5) years practical experience in surface or underground mining departments under MSHA regulations required
  • Autonomous systems or operational experience required
  • Demonstrated safety leadership capability for both self and team required
  • Excellent leadership, people, and communication skills to act as a "Change Agent" required
  • Exhibit outstanding verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and analytical skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project required
  • Proficient with emerging technology adoption preferred; and systems experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of working ethics required
