Description Title: Lecturer (Maori) Position Number: pending Hiring Unit: College of Arts, Languages & Letters, Dept. of lndo-Pacific Languages and Literatures Location: Manoa Date Posted: 10/22/2021 Closing Date: Continuous Salary Information: Minimum $1,911 per credit hour; commensurate with experience. Full Time/Part Time: Part Time Temporary/Permanent: Temporary Other Conditions: For placement in lecturer pool for Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025.
Contingent on course offerings, sufficient enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funds. The candidate must work in Hawai'i. Duties and Responsibilities 1.
To teach basic Maori language skill courses in the target language. Maintain office hours and work with other language programs in integrating teaching efforts. Minimum Qualifications 1.
B.A. with emphasis on Education/Bilingual Education, Linguistics, ESL, Second Language/Foreign Language Teaching, or closely related fields; high level oral and written fluency in target language and English. Desirable Qualifications 1
Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching; university level teaching experience of the target language; experience in target language curriculum development; evidence of prior or pending research and/or publications on target language.
