MOO

East Providence, RI

Full-time

Posted 8 days ago

Job description

MOO set out to shake up the world of print back in 2006. And we’ve come a long way since. Today we’re a 400 + strong team (we’re thinking of getting matching jackets) who create print and digital products for companies of all sizes – from Google and AirBnB to the guy who makes those amazing prints you found at a craft fair.

Our global HQ is in London, UK, while we also have premises in Dagenham. In the US, you’ll find us in Boston, MA Denver, CO, and East Providence, RI

We’re making new and exciting things – and we could really do with your help.

We are currently seeking to add a Manufacturing Training Specialist to our Operations team. This role is necessary to support our increasing production demands and ensure continued operational efficiency.

This is a hands-on role responsible for training manufacturing employees to safely, consistently, and efficiently operate production equipment and understand manufacturing processes. The right candidate will play a critical role in accelerating onboarding, standardizing work practices, and improving overall performance through structured, practical training.

The person we want is a hands-on mentor who thrives on the production floor, possessing the unique ability to break down complex machinery operations into clear, teachable steps for others. You are a process-driven expert dedicated to replacing informal shadowing with structured, measurable training programs that guarantee safety and operational excellence. By partnering closely with leadership and production teams, you will act as a catalyst for growth, ensuring every new hire and veteran operator is certified, confident, and performing at their peak. Your ultimate goal is to standardize work practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement that directly impacts our manufacturing efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct training needs assessments across manufacturing areas to identify gaps in equipment operation, safety, and process adherence
  • Design and implement structured training programs for machine and assembly operators (presses, laminators, cutting, and downstream equipment)
  • Develop clear work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), visual training aids, and auditing mechanisms
  • Work with an equipment trainer and maintenance to deliver hands-on training on equipment, including safe operation, troubleshooting, setup, and quality checks
  • Own and execute onboarding training for new hires, ensuring consistent and timely ramp-up to full productivity
  • Certify operators on equipment and track skill progression using defined competency matrices
  • Partner with Supervisors and Leads to reinforce training, close performance gaps, and support underperforming employees
  • Standardize training documentation and maintain accurate training records
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve training effectiveness, reduce errors, and increase throughput
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence on the floor
About You
In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with the Training Development Team, Production, Quality, and Operations leadership to identify skill gaps and build training that directly improves performance on the floor. You will spend significant time on the production floor identifying training needs, developing training programs, coaching trainers, reinforcing standard work, and ensuring employees understand the manufacturing processes and procedures.
You will design and deliver structured, repeatable training programs that move away from informal “shadowing” and toward clear, measurable skill development.
Nice to Haves
  • Some technical background with manufacturing equipment to provide deeper troubleshooting insights within a fast-paced production environment
  • LMS Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems or digital training tracking software to modernize record-keeping
  • Instructional Design Mastery: A proven track record of creating high-quality visual training aids, SOPs, and structured work instructions
What’s it like to work at MOO?
MOO’s the kind of workplace where you can really be yourself. Dye your hair purple. Hit the sofa with your laptop. Whatever helps you feel comfortable and happy at work. We want to help you grow in your career and set you up for success – while also recognising the importance of a healthy work/life balance.

That’s why we offer 34 days of combined vacation and holidays, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus life and AD&D insurance. We also offer a 401(k) with company match and no vesting schedule, a dog-friendly and casual office environment, and free lunches every other week. Because when you feel good, your work does too.

Diversity Statement
We are working hard to create a representative, inclusive and super-friendly team, because we know that different experiences, perspectives and backgrounds make for a better workplace. And that creates a better experience for our customers.
