Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for implementing process technologies required to enhance the transition of products from design to manufacturing. They will also support the design of new product development, and ensure the end-product has a high level of manufacturability.

·        Monitors day-to-day production activities and recommends product and process improvements to enhance the efficiency of operations

·        Develops manufacturing routings and work instructions, and applies labor standards required to support the product build cycle

·        Establishes process capabilities and recommends improvements

·        Defines and specifies the requirement for assembly tooling, fixtures and equipment to support manufacturing operations

·        Participates in Material Review Board (MRB) and dispositions discrepant material.

·        Participates in design reviews for product and process compatibility

·        Provides labor and manufacturing engineering costs required for proposal activities

·        Prepares floor and equipment layouts to promote an efficient flow of product through the various assembly operations

·        Provides technical assistance in the transitioning of designs to the manufacturing phase

·        Monitors designs for compliance to design rules, standards and procedures in order to provide consistency in designs and manufacturing process

·        Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job:

-        Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical discipline or its equivalent

-        Experience with CAD

 Preferred Requirements:

-        Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical discipline or its equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related manufacturing field

-        Knowledge of composite materials processing and fabrication techniques

-        Knowledge of tool design and fabrication techniques

·        Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
