Job description

Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical Engineering

Location: Green Bay, WI (Hybrid)
Hours: 30 hrs/week
Travel: 40–60%
Level: Senior (10+ years)
 

About the Role

Seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with deep expertise in Classic Tissue Converting to support process improvement, equipment optimization, and production troubleshooting at the Green Bay Plant. This role requires a strong mechanical engineering background and the ability to provide hands-on technical leadership on the floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain performance of mechanical equipment within the tissue converting process.

  • Diagnose equipment issues, develop corrective action plans, and drive resolution.

  • Conduct cost-benefit and feasibility evaluations for new processes or equipment.

  • Develop detailed layouts for manufacturing equipment, workflows, and processes.

  • Research and implement new manufacturing technologies and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Ensure all equipment, processes, and procedures comply with safety, quality, and legal standards.

  • Maintain documentation, prepare technical reports, and support process standardization.

  • Provide hands-on and classroom training to technicians and operators.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Classic Tissue Converting experience.

  • Technical expertise in:

    • Core Machine

    • Embosser Laminator

    • Tissue Classic Winder

  • Strong knowledge of accurate machine setup including CPE and Centerlines.

  • Ability to identify equipment defects and drive corrective solutions.

  • Strong troubleshooting and loss-elimination mindset.

  • Hands-on training capability.

  • Ability to meet converting essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • 15–20+ years of Classic Tissue Converting experience.

  • Familiarity with ECRs and ability to recommend changes related to loss reduction.

  • Knowledge of GTC TPS.
