Title: Staff Engineer

As a Staff Engineer, you will be a key member of a dynamic team of Software Engineering Developers who are tasked with development and maintenance of the point-of-sale software.  Responsibilities will include developing and expanding new functionality for our clients and troubleshooting and enhancing the software.

You will be both working independently and collaborating with other programmers, QA, and project managers throughout the various stages of the software lifecycle. Investigative and problem-solving skills will be valuable for you as a team member here at Bulloch Technologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Development and support of the company's POS application.
  • Provide documentation for each phase of the project life cycle and meet milestones.
  • Organize work prioritization between new development, support & bug fixing.
  • Developing solutions for problems faced by the team/ business.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders to scope development effort of projects
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Be passionate about the work to take on and complete projects and participate fully in
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and recommend effective, scalable solutions.
  • Support and mentor team members through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and code review.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or mathematics with
  • programming background or equivalent development experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in developing/debugging C++ multi-threaded.
  • Detail-oriented, clean code and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience with software applications like Jira, Git, Confluence and Databases
  • Fluent in French and/or Spanish would be an asset
  • Strong background in software security best practices, including encryption
  • Understanding of AI Systems and its applicability.
  • Prior employment at a convenience store/gas station is an asset
