Job Description
The Service Project Manager is responsible for managing large, complex inter-disciplinary projects for Smiths security equipment products and 3rd party. These projects span multiple functional areas and encompass departments from both the Business and Technology areas. Management of these complex projects includes stakeholder management, leveraging and disseminating Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) best practices, and adding rigor and process to project/program definition, implementation, and deployment. In partnership with the Business and Technology Functional Leads, the Project Manager will lead design reviews, delivery planning and execution, governance, status reporting, risk and issues management and budget tracking. They will exhibit strong, effective interpersonal and negotiation skills and are able to communicate effectively with stakeholders and program team members at all levels of the organization. Initiative, and the ability to lead, influence, prioritize, communicate, and execute a project within schedule and budget are critical skills. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated, resourceful, adaptive, creative, results-oriented, decisive individual with an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and priorities.
Essential functions-essential functions, including how an individual is to perform them and the frequency with which the tasks are performed; the tasks must be part of the job function and truly necessary or required to perform the job.
Job duties to include but are not limited to;
  • Ensure that all workers adhere to applicable safety standards
  • Collaborate with Services, Programs and the customer to assemble a feasible project plan to meet the expectations of the company
  • Lead and motivate a cross functional project team in a matrix organization to accomplish project goals and deliverables
  • Must be able to clearly prioritize efforts for team members and find resourceful ways to accomplish tasks on time in a resource-constrained environment
  • Understand revenue models, P/L, and cost-to completion projections
  • Accurately forecast project milestones and revenue, in order to reduce unnecessary labor cost
  • Create and manage project plans and schedules that meet internal and external customer needs
  • Work with the teams to proactively identify and manage program risks
  • Ensure that all project team members understand their roles and responsibilities. Provide input on performance to functional managers
  • Establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating corrective action
  • Manage project schedules and budgets, and deliver revenue and deliverables on schedule
  • Manage deployment, relocation and decommissions of field service security equipment (Internal/External)
  • Communicate project status and priorities to the team, communicate plans to upper management, communicate with customers and stakeholders
  • Provide SOW comments and cost estimate input for proposal preparation when needed
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis deemed necessary by management
  • Identify revenue sources and consult with Sr. Management and Directors on status of opportunities
  • Work with the Service Managers and Program Manager to utilize field resources for project work Exercises every available measure to control and minimize costs while maximizing revenue.
  • Accept additional project and/or program tasks as directed
  • Comply with all applicable export control and security regulations
  • Required to successfully obtain and maintain government clearance(s)
  • Other duties as required
  • Complying with and promoting all relevant legal requirements & Smiths policies and procedures, including business ethics, data protection and health & safety

Qualifications
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years of deployment management required or extensive field experience on deployment

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Program Management Professional certification PMI/PMP is preferred
  • If no PMP Certification, must be willing to achieve PMP Certification within 2 years.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct business experience with TSA ILS/SESI programs and/or projects
  • Program Management Professional certification PMI/PMP is preferred xh
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Management and Business Analysis tools including Presentation, Word Processing, Spreadsheet & Planning Tools (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project & Visio).
  • Working knowledge of CAS compliance
  • Must have experience with safety regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PMBOK/PMI methodologies
  • Proven Project Management skills - particularly scheduling, on-time delivery, managing customer expectations, and stakeholder management

  • Proficient in project task estimation, resource scheduling, risk management, and issue management

  • Ability to establish and effectively coordinate with third party vendors outside contractual requirements
  • Ability to support field service support when project activity is limited or project management skills are required in service functions (bearing replacements, safety for equipment movement, etc).

The compensation for this position ranges from $65,760.00 - $180,200.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills, job-related knowledge, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
