Journeyman Sheet Metal (HVAC)

Large Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Project

Reports To: HVAC Foreman

Location: Greater Phoenix Area (travel to job sites) - Corporate Office: 303 W Elliot Rd 101, Tempe, AZ 85284

Compensation: $60.00–$65.00 hourly, for duration of project only - pay rate determined in interview

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Journeyman Installer in Commercial HVAC at Tempe Mechanical, this role is pivotal to our mission of empowering individuals and building a skilled community. The Journeyman Sheet Metal Installer expertly installs sheet metal components, ensures quality standards are met, and helps foster a safe work environment on a large pharmaceutical manufacturing project.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation & Fabrication

  • Install sheet metal components, including ductwork, roofing, siding, and other metal products, according to blueprints, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Accurately measure and mark sheet metal materials for cutting, using tools such as tape measures, rulers, and shears; cut and shape sheet metal using various cutting equipment to meet project dimensions.
  • Assemble and fabricate sheet metal components, including joining seams, welding, and soldering, to create a finished product that meets quality standards.
  • Lay out and position sheet metal components based on project drawings and specifications, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to design requirements.
  • Secure sheet metal components in place using appropriate fasteners, adhesives, welding, or soldering techniques, ensuring all fastenings are done securely to withstand environmental conditions.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to coordinate work activities and ensure project goals are met.
  • Communicate any issues or challenges that may affect project timelines.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, assisting colleagues and sharing knowledge and skills to accomplish project goals efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an HVAC Journeyman in the commercial sector.
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug test for municipality work.
