Job Brief

In this role you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing & optimizing existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency using lean manufacturing methods. You will be required to interpret engineering drawing packages and sales write-ups to assemble and test products in accordance with customer and quality requirements including UL. You will assist the directing manager to plan necessary manpower and equipment to complete production and testing functions efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to shop floor
  • Liaison between shop floor & engineering
  • Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing and testing processes and equipment
  • Lead process improvement projects
  • Maintain and assist in the development of process measures
  • Communicate project status with Directing Manager
  • Identify, develop, and conduct training for Operations team

Requirements

  • Lean engineering, project management, and manufacturing operations experience is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Manufacturing engineering experience is required.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Desire to work in hands on, shop floor environment
  • Experience using test/inspection equipment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
