The Manufacturing Planner, Scheduler is an important hub in the manufacturing process.This busy professional schedules and releases work orders for assigned ROM, Safe Fleet product lines. The Planner partners with Production Supervisors and Leads, Purchasing staff, Customer Service staff and site Operations Director regarding the status and requirements of orders or projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works closely with Production Team in order to schedule work order releases to meet customer and system driven production requirements
  • Works closely with Customer Service regarding ship dates and coordinates expedites
  • Drives production to complete work orders on-time and to drive Production to perform necessary clocking operations to close out open jobs/work orders
  • Works closely with Purchasing ensuring availability of materials for existing and planned work orders
  • Troubleshoots discrepancies between real and expected production capacity

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:

  • Planning, Scheduling or Purchasing experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Ability to effectively manage the flow of work orders to optimize production performance
  • Ability to communicate needs to Purchasing and Production departments with conviction while maintaining a positive and professional work environment
  • Strong desire to understand and improve system tools
  • The ability to enjoy the challenges, fast pace, urgency, and rewards of a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read a measuring tape and read measurements on prints

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in ERP - Syteline or other Infor product desired
  • Strong Excel proficiency - V Lookup, Pivots, Custom Filters and Macros preferred. VBA in Excel desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with quality standards, principles, practices, and procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership or previous position where leaned upon as primary problem-solver

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Manufacturing Planning or Scheduling role
  • Consideration given to Production Supervision or Purchasing experience
  • Experience participating or managing annual physical inventory is a plus
